VSDO is an emerging architectural practice based in Melbourne with primary focus on the creation and delivery of high standard modern architecture and interior art-form. We have established a well-earned reputation for design excellence in wide spectrum of projects, from retail store to 900m² martial art centre; from residential home to commercial offices, advocating the cross generation of design ideas.

In physics, Moment is a combination of a physical quantity and a distance. 

In Architecture, Moment is a combination of physical quality (light, shade, space & texture) and people's sensory experiences. 

Our mission is to create and synthesis series of these moments in a logical and poetic way, which stimulates people's perception and also facilitate day  to day operation and habitation. 

Moments of such must be delivered as conceptually creative, technically excellent, functionally complete, environmentally responsive and built with a  high level of attention to detail.

Through decade of practice, VSDO has established a “C-C-C approach”, which is greatly emphasis with the following:

Clients

• We appreciate every project is unique, and client specific. We are interested in all clients’ / communities’ culture, practical requirements and desire for good design. 

• To successfully and smoothly deliver a project, the client needs to be part of the design team and needs to be kept fully informed on all design issues throughout all phases of the project to ensure the client agrees and supports the design solutions proposed.

Challenges

• Every project we started with research, ask series of questions and propose options of new solutions. We are not afraid to ask the ‘hard questions’ and often convert them into design opportunities, further developed into realized ideas through the imagination and expertise of our team in collaboration with other specialists, the client and most importantly the community. We challenge assumptions and generalisation with our perceptiveness, test the boundaries so that together we can find a clearer vision and the most optimized outcome.

Collaboration & Co-design

• We use collaboration and co-design methodologies to understand the underlying vision that our clients have for the project and the community. Through the process building a real ownership and pride in stakeholders and communities.
